Where is my backup data stored in iCloud?
Onyx Vault synchronizes your encrypted data using a private iCloud Ubiquity container. Unlike public folders, this folder is completely hidden from the system's Files app. This prevents accidental deletion of your recovery database while ensuring silent, automatic synchronization between all devices running on the same Apple ID.
How secure are my recovery codes?
All recovery keys and codes are encrypted locally on your physical device using AES-256-GCM encryption before being saved. The encryption keys are securely protected behind Face ID / Touch ID using the Apple Secure Enclave. No unencrypted data is ever written to storage or transmitted over the network.
Can INNSOFT Labs access my keys?
No. Onyx Vault is built on a zero-knowledge architecture. The application runs entirely offline and syncs only to your private iCloud container. We do not have servers, databases, or access to your backup files. If you lose your Apple ID credentials and passcode, we cannot recover your vault.
How do I restore my vault on a new phone?
Simply download the app on your new device and sign into the same Apple ID. Once you open the app and authorize biometrics, Onyx Vault will automatically locate your backup file in your private iCloud storage and pull the encrypted database in the background.
